This was stupid. That's me standing on the retaining wall riiight at the edge of the Seine (the big river that runs through Paris) with absolutely nothing between me and the frigid water (and a 30-minute metro ride back to the hotel). I'm facing the bank of the Ile-de-la-Cite, the island where Notre Dame is, and behind me across the river (out of view) is the Latin Quarter, where there were lots of fun restaurants--we ate over there two or three times. I'm also pretty sure that's the Pont Neuf--the oldest bridge in Paris whose name ironically translates to "New Bridge"--in the background. It was made in 11- or 13- something.
Versailles, outside a literal golden gate (gilded, anyway). I let everyone on the trip in on my plan to conquer the world. This is me posing for a future statue outside "my house."
Me and Chase (short for Chastity) in the courtyard. She's in a lot of the pictures because I forgot my camera so I shared with her.
The Hall of Mirrors. Uber famous. Huge ballroom where, among other significant events, the Treaty of Versailles to end World War I was signed. There's a famous painting of that somewhere.

This is me mourning the death of Napoleon . . . in front of his gigantic crypt in a gigantic room under the gigantic dome and spire of a gigantic building right on the banks of the Seine. Someone was compensating for something . . .

This was at our traditional Belgian dinner the last night of the trip. From the left: Paul (my roommate), Myranda (his girlfriend-turned-fiancee--he proposed in Paris on the trip!), Lauren, and Sheena. Paul and Myranda were the only two here pictured in our "clique" that stuck together through the trip.

And here's the other half of the crew! From the left: Laura (fellow ANTH student), Leslie (in my film class), Kati, me, and Chase. I think that's a plate of the traditional mussels-in-cheese dish that was served as an appetizer. Yuuummm.
Hope you enjoyed! I'll post more sometime.
