One night as I sat meditating, God

came and sat down beside me.


"Can you see Me?" He asked.


"Of course," I replied.


"I've sat here until

I can see You in

every child's laugh,

every flower's beauty,

and every bird's song."


"It's not enough."


He stood back up.


"Sit here until

you can see Me in

every murderer's eyes,

every rapist's lips,

and every war's dead."


Silence.


"That could take a while."


He smiled.


"I know."
