New jobs are great.
Buying new clothes to wear to new jobs . . . that I find less appealing.
Today I had to go shopping for grown-up clothes. No longer will t-shirts from high school and ratty athletic shorts suffice.
(Not all the time, anyway.)
I found a few things, but could use some help from my more fashion-savvy readers. I need stuff that is somewhere on the dressed-up scale between shirt-and-tie and polo. Ideally, things that can be mixed and matched to keep me from paying more than absolutely necessary.
Help?
Also, please pray for the car. We just fixed the front end and now I'm having trouble with the battery. I'm supposed to head to the Boro tomorrow, but I'm a little nervous the way the car has been acting.

I will be your personal shopping assistant if you pay me! I was actually telling Garrett the other day that I wish someone would pay me to shop with them!
Here's a few basic suggestions as far as places go... don't know if you're shopping in M'boro or Memphis or both... But basically any department store (except maybe Sears) should have nice shirts and pants for guys. Gap would probably also have some good options. American Eagle, Buckle, Old Navy and wherever else young males shop also have button-downs that are more casual but are probably nice enough for some companies or perhaps on Fridays.
It sounds like you're going for business casual, so here's a couple links about that:

If you want any more, you'll have to pay for my services. :P
I can add the dress shoes part. I recommend getting some Dockers from Rack Room or something for your black shoes (they are affordable and comfortable). Some brown Skechers that are semi-casual would also be great.
I buy a lot of my stuff at Express, Gap, and Banana Republic. Macy's is not bad either, but I constantly struggle with dress clothes being too billowy. We are similarly sized I believe, so I would look for things that are slim cut.
Good luck!
The blanket I think was actually mostly on there like that, though I probably just moved it to where it was no longer in a wad. Garrett and I use it all the time and then we just leave it as it is on the couch.
Sounds like your style is Bohemian/ethnic I suppose?
So do you have a place in Memphis to live? See, I had no idea that you were looking for jobs there or anything.
Gap is very expensive. I second department stores. I know I can Kenneth very nice 'polo' (collared) shirts from Belk and Dillards (but I only buy from Dillards when sales are going on. A nice pair of khakis can be found at Target, for around 15 to 20ish dollars, and also you need some black pants. Its not that hard. :) Christi is the person to answer these types of questions, but just go and look for collared type shirts :) that don't break the bank!
